If you bought a counterfeit model and you are having driver issues, the driver error code will most likely be 10. I installed a custom hardware solution on another computer running windows 8.1 with another cable and realized that cable was counterfeit. I tested this instructable on XP machine and had no problems and therefore not aware of this. Note: Some time after publishing this instructable I became aware that some of PL2303HX chips on the marked are counterfeit. My cable came with the following pins TX,RX, +5V, +3.3V, Ground, RTS, DTR, DSR, CTS, DCD, but you need to ask seller which pins are available to be sure.Īll other USB com modules with the RTS, DTR, CTS pins available will work. Supports all the popular flash PICs, as well as many of the newly released PICs! Use this software for support for the 16F628A, 16F87, and 16F88.My solution is based on the 2 $ USB virtual com port chip PL2303HX CABLE from ebay see it here As seen on ebay there is a housing and you cant see the available pin outs. WinPic - Great new software by Wolfgang "Wolf" Bnscher. It's best software for serial port programmers we've seen - and it's free! **Tutorials: ** ICProg Setup and ICSP Setup USB to serial cables have also not been proven to work. It can also be used with bread boards utilizing a polarized ICSP header (see below) or with simple jumper wires.Ĭaution: The programmer may not work with low power serial interfaces - i.e. The PG2C works very well in conjunction with all Olimex PIC Development boards. Now with an **ICSP **header! Comes with ICSP cable. It supports 8, 18, 28 and 40 pin PIC microcontrollers which allow serial programming and I2C EEPROM memories. PIC-PG2C is the newest revision of our very popular, simple to use programmer! Based on the JDM design which takes all necessary signals and power supply from RS232 serial port. We are no longer carrying this programmer, but have a look at our other PIC programmers! This page is for reference only.
